Track Name: Son
speak form the heart son
mean what you say use your brain everyday
your fists are reserved for protection
your pride is not some valuable possession

let it go, son let it go

the masses are not always right
don't let fools do your chores for you
if you want something done right
and take care of the ones that you love
don't go to sleep angry cause it's not that important

let it go, son let it go

speak from the heart son
mean what you say use your brain everyday
Track Name: Nine-Six-Nine
there’s a train blowing black smoke through a full yellow moon and it’s steaming through a west wind like an old tired croon

there’s a boat burning diesel past the island of two tree it’s heading for the horizon’s blood red sky in the east

oh sometimes it feels oh sometimes it feels like I can’t breath oh sometimes it feels, oh sometimes it feels like I can’t breath

there’s an old worn out picture in the hollow of the night that shows solutions to the equations if the questions they are right

so is it all just smoke and mirrors a hologram for the king or is life just a grand illusion

oh sometimes it feels, oh sometimes it feels like I can’t breath oh sometimes it feels, like I’m running out of time to climb back aboard the 969
Track Name: Miss Liberty
two weeks after her first bleed
a man dragged mary into the weeds
and showed her all that is wrong with man
when she went down to the clinic
her wounds still sore from where he put it
she was spit on and called a killer of gods children

they'll spit on you
no matter what you do
they'll spit on you
and say another pray for you
they'll spit on you
no matter what you do
they'll spit on you
and tax you for the spit

they say it's time to raise the interest rate
on student loans to compensate
the poor from climbing up from the bottom rung
yeah they sell you shit that you don't need
they'll ship your jobs overseas
and make all of their competitors your enemies

they'll spit on you
no matter what you do
they'll spit on you
and say another pray for you
they'll spit on you
no matter what you do
they'll spit on you
and tax you for the spit

don't spit on me
Miss Liberty
don't spit on me
and act like you've done no wrong
Track Name: Plastic Feelings
I’d give it all up for the girl in the broken dream
Plastic feelings, fractured thoughts and littered memories
But I keep waking up in beds that don’t belong to me
I’m terrified of what I might become

No I haven’t got a clue what I am doing here
My intentions are unclear but that don’t matter
I’d mend the pieces but the pieces have all disappeared
Scattered far beyond the great divide

So I’ve tried to pray to God but no one’s listening
Life is but a joke that’s written as a tragedy
And bad things happen to even those who do still believe
They happen but they wont happen to me

Got a phone call from my doctor with some pressing news
Said, “you’ve got a broken heart and a bad attitude”
Then suggested I should probably quit smoking soon
I guess she called to say that I was fine

But still I fill the hole with substances and pretty things
And my notebook full of cynical analogies
Yes everything’s exactly just as bad as it seems
Like a burning fire hydrant in the snow

Now I’m retracing steps and placing blame where it’s deserved
Vulgar tendencies to wanderlust in Regensburg
I’ll find no solace that the story’s unoriginal

So I’ve tried to pray to God but no one’s listening
Life is but a joke that’s written as a tragedy
And bad things happen even to those who do still believe
They happen but they wont happen to me
Track Name: Atlas Dug
woke up before dawn
put my skin on
black coffee
drinking in darkness alone
just opening my eyes
to another sunrise
and the highways
littered with sorrow

all driving
straight
into the grave

i clock in before six
and pick up my shovel
these 30 odd years now
of just one day into the other
i put in my time
get paid and go home
but these day's it's getting harder
now to climb from this hole

dig digging
straight
into the grave

i don't want to know
what lies down below
cause now i can't see the light
i can't see the light
i can't see the light
can't see the light

just dig digging
straight into the grave
